Ukrainian grain exports are almost a quarter less than last year’s figure
Ukraine’s grain and legume exports in MY 2025/26 reached 24.8 million tons by March 23, down 23% from last season, according to the State Customs Service. Export volumes declined for key crops such as wheat, corn, and barley, while flour shipments also recorded a slight year-on-year decrease compared to MY 2024/25.
The volume of grain and leguminous crops exports from Ukraine in the MY 2025/26 as of March 23 amounted to 24.8 million tons, which is 7.4 million tons, or 23% less than the previous season. This is evidenced by data from the State Customs Service.
Thus, 9.6 million tons of wheat were exported. This is 3.4 million tons, or 26% less than last year’s volumes.
Barley supplies to foreign markets amounted to over 1.9 million tons. The decrease compared to the same date last season is 12%.
Rye was exported in the amount of 0.2 thousand tons, which is ten times less than last year’s 10.8 thousand tons.
13.5 million tons of corn were exported, which is 19% less than last season’s shipments.
Flour exports from Ukraine amounted to 47.8 thousand tons, which is 9% less than last year’s figure.
For reference: in the MY 2024/25, exports of grain and leguminous crops amounted to 40.6 million tons: wheat – 15.7 million tons; barley – 2.3 million tons; rye – 10.8 thousand tons; corn – 22 million tons; flour – 71.1 thousand tons.
