MP procures 41 lakh metric tonnes of wheat, ₹6,520 crore paid to farmers: CM Mohan Yadav

Madhya Pradesh has procured 41 lakh metric tonnes of wheat, with ₹6,520 crore paid to farmers, according to Mohan Yadav. The state targets 100 lakh tonnes procurement, while farmers can complete slot bookings until May 23.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has said that the state government has procured 41 lakh metric tonnes of wheat so far, with payments worth ₹6,520 crore already disbursed to farmers.

Sharing the update, the Chief Minister highlighted that the procurement drive is progressing steadily as part of the government’s commitment to farmer welfare.

Mohan Yadav: Slot booking open till May 23

Mohan Yadav urged farmers to complete slot booking by May 23 to ensure smooth sale of their produce at procurement centres. He emphasized timely booking to avoid last-minute inconvenience.

Large-scale farmer participation

According to official data, around 14.70 lakh farmers have booked slots, while procurement has already been completed from approximately 7.77 lakh farmers across the state.

Ambitious procurement target

The state government has set a target of procuring 100 lakh metric tonnes of wheat, indicating a масштаб procurement operation aimed at ensuring minimum support price (MSP) benefits reach farmers efficiently.

Focus on timely payments

Officials have stressed that prompt payments are being ensured directly to farmers’ accounts, strengthening trust in the procurement system and reducing financial stress during the harvesting season.

The ongoing procurement drive is expected to support the rural economy, providing liquidity to farmers and contributing to overall agricultural growth in Madhya Pradesh.
