US winter wheat crop conditions continue to deteriorate
US winter wheat conditions deteriorated further, with only 27% rated good-to-excellent, the lowest since 1989, versus 52% last year. USDA forecasts 2026 wheat production at 42.3 million tonnes, lowest since 1972, while corn output may reach 406.3 million tonnes and soybeans 120.7 million tonnes.
Last week, winter wheat crop conditions in the US deteriorated again, according to Zerno On-line, citing the US Department of Agriculture’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS).
