Tamil Nadu: Moongilthuraipattu cooperative sugar mill begins 2026-27 cane crushing
The Moongilthuraipattu Cooperative Sugar Mill in Kallakurichi began 2026–27 crushing operations, targeting 4.75 lakh tonnes of sugarcane from 12,750 acres. Agriculture Minister R. Vinoth inaugurated the season, attended by District Collector J. E. Padmaja.
Kallakurichi: The cooperative sugar mill at Moongilthuraipattu began sugarcane crushing for the 2026-27 season on Thursday.
The crushing operations were formally inaugurated by Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare R. Vinoth.
According to officials, the cooperative mill plans to crush around 4.75 lakh tonnes of sugarcane cultivated across nearly 12,750 acres during the current crushing season.
District Collector J. E. Padmaja was also present at the inauguration ceremony.
