Argentina corn exports set record in July
Argentina recorded a record 5.14 million tonnes of corn exports in July, the highest monthly volume ever. Season shipments reached 22.21 million tonnes, while the 2025-26 crop estimate rose to 70.5 million tonnes. Rainfall, however, continues delaying harvesting and grain drying operations.
Argentina enjoyed a record corn export month in July with 5.14 million tonnes shipped, according to an Aug. 14 report from the Rosario Board of Trade.
The grains exchange said July was the biggest month for corn exports in Argentina’s history, topping the 5.08 million tonnes shipped in April. So far this season (March to July), corn shipments have already reached 22.21 million tonnes.
The exchange also raised its estimate for Argentina’s 2025-26 marketing year corn crop to 70.5 million tonnes, up 2.5 million tonnes, calling it a season that “will go down in history.”
Export logistics were being complicated by recurring rains that slowed grain drying and delayed fieldwork, according to the exchange. Argentina’s corn harvest was 89% complete, lagging the five-year average by 8 percentage points, with 11.6 million hectares yet to be harvested.
Argentina annually ranks third in global corn exports, behind only the United States and Brazil, according to the US Department of Agriculture.
