Commerce Adviser Sk Bashir Uddin expects edible oil shortages to be resolved within 7–10 days. Speaking after a meeting on February 12, he assured that Ramadan essentials like dates, lentils, sugar, and chickpeas are adequately supplied, with efforts underway to stabilize the oil market soon.
Commerce Adviser Sk Bashir Uddin hopes that the shortages in edible oil supply will be removed within the next seven to 10 days.
He said this in a reply to a question from the journalists after a meeting of the advisory council committee on current labour situation of the factories of Beximco Industrial Park at the Shipping Ministry on Wednesday, February 12.
Mentioning that there is enough supply of Ramadan commodities like date, lentil, sugar and chickpeas in the market, he said, “There is a problem in case of oil. We hope the market will return to normal and there will be no supply shortages within seven to 10 days.”
