Farmers’ protest continues over closed Baitalpur sugar mill
Farmers in Deoria, Uttar Pradesh, are protesting for the eighth consecutive day, demanding the reopening of the Baitalpur sugar mill. Deoria, Uttar Pradesh: The protest by farmers demanding the reopening of the Baitalpur sugar mill continued for the eighth day at the Collectorate on Thursday, reported Live Hindustan. The agitation is led by Brajendra Mani Tripathi, president of the “Chini Mill Chalao Sangharsh Samiti,”.
Protestors at the protest emphasized that the community has been agitating for years to revive the mill, but the government has shown little interest. They criticized the Chief Minister for making repeated promises to reopen the mill but failing to deliver on them.
Ram Sagar Mani Tripathi, Avadhesh Mani, Ashok Malviya, Sanjay Shukla, Deendayal Sharma, Komal Yadav, Ram Iqbal Chauhan, Vijay Kumar Singh, Harikesh Gupta, Rajendra Singh, Bakridan Ali, Lal Saheb Yadav, and Vikas Dubey were among those participating in the protest.
