Govt To Procure 30% Lustre Loss Wheat From Farmers
Jabalpur: In the light of untimely rains and hailstorm, government has ordered that even wheat with a lustre loss till 30% will be procured at full support price and also full state bonus will be paid against it’s procurement in year 2024-25.While the MSP is Rs 2,275, state government pays a bonus of Rs125 per quintal.Food and civil supplies department has written to all the district collectors and the procurement agencies regarding the same. As per the instructions, these lustre loss wheat should be staked separately by making a ‘Z’ mark on the bags. And farmer wise record of lustre loss percentage and details should be maintained.This wheat should be transported separately and not on trucks carrying fair average quality wheat. And each and every truck challan for luster loss wheat should have information regarding the percentage of lustre loss.Besides this, other instructions, like maintaining a detailed account of the percentage of lustre loss observed in the wheat that has been procured, both the fair average quality wheat and this lustre loss wheat which has been affected by rain and hailstorm should be stored separately, were also issued.
