Kazakhstan exported nearly 7.8 million tons of wheat in the first 10 months of the 2025/26 MY
Kazakhstan’s wheat exports reached 7.799 million tonnes in the first 10 months of 2025/26, up 17% year-on-year. Central Asia accounted for 77.5% of shipments, while exports to Turkey, Iran and Russia surged. Nearly 89% of annual export potential was shipped.
According to Kazakhstan’s State Revenue Committee, wheat exports (soft and durum, excluding shipments to the EAEU countries) totaled 577.6 thousand tons in June 2026, up 7.3% from the previous month but down 1.3% from June of the 2024/25 MY, Yevgeny Karabanov, head of the Analytics Committee at the Grain Union of Kazakhstan, said on his Telegram channel.
“Cumulative exports of all wheat in the first 10 months of the 2025/26 MY are estimated at 7.799 million tons, up 17% from the same period of the previous season,” Karabanov said.
Compared with the same period of the previous MY, Kazakhstan recorded the largest increases in wheat exports to Uzbekistan (up 44%), Afghanistan (up 2.65-fold), Turkey (up 27-fold), Iran (up 360-fold) and Russia (up 10.6-fold), he said.
Exports declined compared with the same period of the previous MY to Turkmenistan (down 2.2-fold to 23.5 thousand tons), Azerbaijan (down 3.15-fold to 214.2 thousand tons), Latvia (down 1.5-fold to 30.1 thousand tons) and Italy (down 40% to 242.2 thousand tons).
“The 6.3-fold decline in wheat exports to China, to 23.6 thousand tons, was offset by an 81.5% increase in feed flour exports to 1.37 million tons. Central Asian countries (Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan) remain the main destination for Kazakhstan’s wheat exports, accounting for 77.5% of total wheat exports, or nearly 6.048 million tons, in the first 10 months of the 2025/26 MY,” the analyst added.
As a result, nearly 89% of Kazakhstan’s projected wheat export potential for the current marketing year had been shipped in the first 10 months of the season, Karabanov said.
