Russia may export over 47 million tons of wheat in 2025/26 MY
Russia’s 2025/26 wheat exports are forecast at 47.7 million tonnes, up from 42.2 million tonnes in 2024/25. June exports may reach 2.26 million tonnes. Heatwaves across France, Germany, and Europe threaten wheat yields and quality, potentially boosting demand for Russian grain.
Russian wheat exports outside the country in the 2025/26 MY may total 47.7 mln tons, significantly above the previous season’s result (42.2 mln tons). This forecast was given by analysts from the Rusagrotrans analytical center, pole.rf reports.
“According to operational data, from June 1 to June 22, actual wheat exports from Russia amounted to about 1.55 mln tons. The projected export volume for June is estimated at 2.26 mln tons, well above the June 2025 figure (1.36 mln tons),” the report said.
Analysts also point to deteriorating weather conditions in European countries. Extreme air temperatures reaching 40°C this week in France are not only lowering expectations for gross harvests but also threatening grain quality, primarily milling wheat.
“A similar situation is observed in Germany and in countries of Southwestern and Central Europe, which may redirect global demand in favor of Russian grain,” analysts said.
