BACOLOD CITY — The Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA) announced on Thursday that the Sugar Board has approved Sugar Order No. 1 classifying 100 percent of the country’s sugar production for Crop Year 2026-2027 as “B” or Domestic Market Sugar.
In an advisory, SRA Administrator Pablo Luis Azcona informed all sugar industry stakeholders that the allocation was reached by consensus during a consultative meeting in Makati City on Oct. 2.
Accordingly, all sugar mills, planters, traders, and other concerned parties are advised and directed to ensure that all locally produced sugar for Crop Year 2026-2027 is properly classified and designated as “B” or Domestic Market Sugar, consistent with the Sugar Board’s approved policy.
Azcona said Sugar Order No. 1, series of 2026-2027 is undergoing the necessary procedural and administrative requirements before its formal issuance and official release.
Upon completion of the requirements, the Sugar Order shall be officially issued and made available to all concerned, he said.
