U.S. fuel ethanol production declines, stocks increase, and exports surge
U.S. fuel ethanol production decreased in the week ending March 7th, averaging 1.062 million barrels per day, down by 31,000 barrels from the previous week. However, production is up by 38,000 barrels per day compared to the same week last year. Ethanol stockpiles increased slightly, rising to 27.276 million barrels. Exports surged, averaging 162,000 barrels per day, marking a 39,000 barrels per day rise from the previous week. No fuel ethanol imports were reported.
U.S. fuel ethanol production saw a decrease in the week ending March 7th, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration’s latest report, reports Ethanol Producer Magazine.
Production averaged 1.062 million barrels per day, a drop of 31,000 barrels per day from the previous week’s 1.093 million barrels. However, when compared to the same week last year, production is up by 38,000 barrels per day.
Meanwhile, ethanol stockpiles experienced a slight increase. Weekly ending stocks rose to 27.276 million barrels, up 87,000 barrels from the previous week’s 27.289 million barrels. Compared to the same week last year, stocks are significantly higher, up by 1.494 million barrels.
A notable change was seen in exports. Fuel ethanol exports averaged 162,000 barrels per day, a substantial increase of 39,000 barrels per day from the previous week’s 123,000 barrels per day. Year-over-year, exports are also up by 38,000 barrels per day. There were no fuel ethanol imports reported for the week ending March 7th.
