EIA: Fuel ethanol production reaches record high, stocks up 1%, exports up 10%
U.S. fuel ethanol production reached a new record high of 1.119 million barrels per day for the week ending Nov. 22, 2024, a 1% increase from the previous week. Stocks rose by 1% to 22.869 million barrels, and exports increased by 10%, averaging 158,000 barrels per day. Compared to the same week in 2023, production was up by 108,000 barrels per day, and exports saw a 7,000-barrel per day rise. No fuel ethanol imports were reported for the week.

U.S. fuel ethanol production expanded by 1% the week ending Nov. 22, setting a new record high, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Nov. 27. Stocks of fuel ethanol were up more than 1% and exports were up 10%.
Fuel ethanol production averaged 1.119 million barrels per day the week ending Nov. 22, up 9,000 barrels per day when compared to the 1.11 million barrels per day of production reported for the previous week, and up 6,000 barrels per day when compared to the previous record of 1.113 million barrels per day, which was set two weeks earlier. When compared to the same week of last year, production for the week ending Nov. 22 was up 108,000 barrels per day.
Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol reached 22.869 million barrels the week ending Nov. 22, up 306,000 barrels when compared to the 22.563 million barrels of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, stocks for the week ending Nov. 22 were up 1.49 million barrels.
Exports of fuel ethanol averaged 158,000 barrels per day the week ending Nov. 22, up 14,000 barrels per day when compared to the 144,000 barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, exports for the week ending Nov. 22 were up 7,000 barrels per day. No imports of fuel ethanol were reported for the week ending Nov. 22.
