Kerala : ₹150 crore for comprehensive rice development programme
The 2025-26 State Budget introduces a ₹150 crore rice development programme, integrating various schemes. It includes ₹80 crore for ₹5,500 per hectare input assistance and ₹3,000 per hectare for land conservation. The agriculture sector receives ₹727.40 crore for plan schemes, with ₹115.50 crore expected as Central assistance, according to Finance Minister K.N. Balagopal.
The State Budget for 2025-26 has proposed to introduce a comprehensive rice development programme. An amount of ₹150 crore has been allocated for the project, which will be implemented by integrating various schemes. The amount includes ₹80 crore for providing royalty of ₹5,500 per hectare as input assistance for sustainable rice cultivation and ₹3,000 per hectare to paddy land owners for land conservation.
An amount of ₹727.40 crore has been provided for the plan schemes in the agriculture sector in 2025-26. A sum of ₹115.50 crore is expected as Central assistance, said Finance Minister K.N. Balagopal.
