Canada increased its exports of wheat, barley and peas

Canada exported 45.6 million tonnes of grains, pulses and oilseeds during the first 45 weeks of 2025/26, down 2% year-on-year. Wheat, barley and pea exports increased, while canola, corn, oats and soybean shipments declined, according to the Canadian Grain Commission.

In the forty-five weeks of the current season, which ends in July, Canada exported 45.6 million tonnes of grains, pulses, and oilseeds, down 2% from the same period last season, according to Zerno On-line, citing the Canadian Grain Commission (CGC).

Soft wheat exports from August 1, 2025, to June 21, 2026, increased to 20.2 million tonnes, up 1% compared to last season, while durum wheat exports also increased by 1% to 5.2 million tonnes. Barley exports jumped 74% to 3.2 million tonnes, and peas by 31% to 2.3 million tonnes.

However, canola exports decreased to 7.9 million tonnes (-12% compared to the same period last season), corn to 0.6 million tonnes (-77%), oats to 0.9 million tonnes (-29%), and soybeans to 3.7 million tonnes (-3%).
