Greenlane renewables expands sales in Brazil with first order for biogas desulfurization equipment

Greenlane Renewables’ subsidiary, Airdep S.r.l., has expanded into the South American market with its first order in Brazil for biogas desulfurization equipment. Airdep’s units efficiently remove hydrogen sulfide (H2S) from raw biogas, safeguarding downstream equipment. This follows eight installations in North America and over 160 globally, mainly in Europe.

On October 7, Greenlane Renewables Inc. announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Airdep S.r.l., has begun sales in the South American market, specifically Brazil, with its first customer order for biogas desulfurization equipment. The Airdep units are designed to efficiently remove hydrogen sulfide (H2S) from raw biogas, safeguarding downstream equipment at a low overall cost. This latest order follows the deployment of eight units in North America over the past two years. Worldwide, Airdep has sold over 160 biogas desulfurization units, with most installations occurring in Europe.

“We’ve seen considerable interest in North America and now in South America for our leading biogas desulfurization equipment in the renewable natural gas (RNG) sector,” said Brad Douville, CEO of Greenlane. “We’re thrilled to introduce a new standard in price performance for hydrogen sulfide removal in these markets, and we see significant potential for our innovative products to enhance the financial viability and technical integrity of RNG projects.”

Greenlane manufactures proprietary biogas desulfurization equipment for a global audience, marketing these solutions under the Greenlane Cascade H2S and Airdep DBC brands. H2S removal is essential for every biogas project, and the company’s product line offers a reliable, cost-effective regenerative solution, ensuring low capital and operational expenses through a straightforward process.

The biogas desulfurization products utilize a regenerative liquid chemical scrubbing process. In this setup, raw biogas passes through a scrubbing tower, where it interacts with a chemical solution to remove sulfur. The sulfur-rich solution is then regenerated in a separate oxidation tank before being transferred to a sedimentation tank to eliminate elemental sulfur solids. The clean, regenerated solution is continuously recycled back to the scrubbing tower, ensuring an efficient process.
