L&T energy gets go-ahead to set up NTPC’s thermal power plants in MP and Bihar

L&T Energy CarbonLite Solutions has received a “Limited Notice to Proceed” (LNTP) from NTPC for developing two major thermal power plants in India, a project worth over ₹15,000 crore. The plants will be located in Gadarwara, Madhya Pradesh (2×800 MW), and Nabinagar, Bihar (3×800 MW). L&T will handle key components, including boilers, turbines, and electrostatic precipitators, along with the mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering for both projects.

L&T Energy CarbonLite Solutions, a division of Larsen & Toubro (L&T), announced on Tuesday that it has received a “Limited Notice to Proceed” (LNTP) from NTPC for the establishment of major thermal power plants in India.

According to the company’s official statement, the project, valued at over Rs 15,000 crore, will focus on the development of Stage-II thermal power plants in Gadarwara, Madhya Pradesh, and Nabinagar, Bihar.

The LNTP covers the contracts for the main plant packages of a 2×800 MW thermal power plant at Gadarwara and a 3×800 MW plant at Nabinagar.

L&T Energy CarbonLite Solutions stated, “We are pleased to have received the ‘Limited Notice to Proceed’ (LNTP) from NTPC Ltd. for setting up thermal power plants in Madhya Pradesh and Bihar.”

The scope of work includes the design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, installation, and commissioning of critical components such as boilers, turbines, electrostatic precipitators (ESP), and other essential systems. L&T will also manage the mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and civil engineering aspects of these projects.
