Rice millers being threatened: BJP Telangana

During a press conference in Hyderabad, a BJP representative criticized the Telangana government’s recent order (GO 27), claiming it would foster corruption and threaten rice millers. He questioned why names of defaulting millers weren’t publicly disclosed and alleged that the government was insincere in its paddy purchasing efforts. He further accused the Congress party of repeating past mistakes, hinting at collusion between political leaders in fostering corruption.

Addressing the media at the party headquarters in Hyderabad, he said, “GO 27 issued by the civil supplies department will give impetus to corruption. The millers are being threatened by appointing task forces. Why the names of rice millers who have defaulted are not being kept in the public domain? The government is not sincere in buying paddy. Harvesting of paddy has started and still the names of millers are not being finalised.”

The BJP, he said had exposed `11,500 crores scam in the civil supplies department. “Congress is committing the same mistakes as the BRS. They are laying foundations for big scams. Why are GOs being issued after the paddy purchase has started? he queried. Despite differences between them, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and civil supplies minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy are together in this corruption, he alleged.
